Started in December 2008 driven by pure curiosity about the twitter hype this web site has grown into much more than initially envisioned, being right now the result of having analyzed 21,780 trends represented by 131,143,551 tweets posted by 12,292,655 twitter user. Initially not sure what this web site is meant for I can't really say I have more insight into this these days.

present

Lately I started to feed the semantic web service calais with the most recent tweets behind the current twitter trends in order to determine tags for these trends. This so generated tag meta level for twitter trends enables first of all another way of searching for trends and more important gives the possibility to interrelate trends based on tag similarity. More of a linguistic experiment right now yet the first results seem to be promising. See the tag link in the top menu for a tag search feature and lists of popular tags. In addition tags and related trends are now listed on the trend detail pages of more recent trends. Futher ideas along that line include tagging and interrelating twitter users in the same manner.

future

R.I.P twopular? Hopefully not yet lacking intelligence, time and server capacity to improve twopular further I am looking right now for partners for this project to keep it unfolding. Also the thought to sell twopular all together is getting more appealing these days. Please feel invited to contact me if you consider to join or take over.
