A shotgun is a very versatile weapon. It can be used for both offense and defense, depending on the situation you’re in. It’s also one of the most powerful weapons in the game at 100% accuracy. With that said, it can be difficult to master, which is why we’ve put together this guide so you can better understand how to aim with the shotgun in Fortnite. 

The first thing you should know about aiming with the shotgun is that every shot has a certain amount of spread or variance. This means that each time you shoot, there will be some difference between where exactly you aimed and what actually hits the target. This can make it difficult to hit an enemy who moves around the map. The more accurate you are, the less of a problem it becomes. 

So if you’re struggling to hit enemies while moving, here are some tips you might want to try out: 

– Use the LMB button to lock onto a specific location on the map. You’ll want to aim for their feet, as they usually stand still when shooting. If they move after you’ve locked onto them, you can quickly aim again by doing the same thing. 

– Aim for the top of their head instead of at their chest; it’s often easier to hit from above because it’s harder for them to duck behind cover. 

– Use the D-pad to adjust your aim by +/- 1-2 degrees. This makes it much easier to get shots off even when you’re moving around the map. 

Once you’ve mastered these tactics, you can start using them during combat in general. When you’re fighting someone who’s trying to hide behind cover, lock them down with the LMB button before firing away. If you accidentally miss them, don’t worry — just wait until they come back into view, then use the D-pad to adjust your aim again. 

If you’re able to do all of this without breaking any rules, congratulations! That’s a pretty good aim right there. But there’s always room for improvement. As such, here are two ways you can go about improving your shotgun aim in Fortnite: 

1) Use the Scout Scope 

The scout scope is a new item that was added to the game recently. It’s basically a high-powered telescopic sight, allowing you to see further than normal. With it, you have a total range of 4x zoom – meaning you can see four times farther than usual. 

You can buy this item from the Supply Drop, which is located between the two bridges near the beach. To find the Supply Drop, look for a bunch of boxes on the ground near a large tree. There are multiple supply drops in the area, but only one contains the scout scope; however, the other ones contain similar items like the sniper rifle (which you can also get from the Supply Drop). 

To open the Supply Drop, you need to collect five keys. Each key looks like a small blue square, and you can find them scattered across the map. Once you’ve gathered enough keys, you’ll be able to unlock the Supply Drop, which contains the scout scope. 

In addition to being useful for finding hidden enemies, the scout scope is also great for spotting loot chests and other rare items. Keep an eye out for anything shiny that you may not otherwise notice. The scout scope can also help you spot loot chests even when you aren’t looking directly at them. 

2) Practice Your Aim 

One way to improve your aim is through practice. In order to get really good at something, you need to spend a lot of time perfecting your technique. Since the shotgun is such a powerful weapon, you could easily spend hours getting comfortable with it. However, spending a significant portion of your gaming time perfecting your aim isn’t ideal either. Instead, try practicing in other games. 

For example, you can play any shooter game online and use a few basic techniques to get better at aiming.
